Washington County Jail

Institutional Construction
in Marietta, OH

The new Washington County Jail cost approximately $7.6 million to complete with Grae-Con serving as the general trades contractor and construction manager. This 38,000 square feet, 124 bed facility consists of four day & night holding areas, state of the art computerized security system with a central control room, offices, and classrooms for rehabilitation. The masonry and precast concrete structure is the first of a prototypical county jail being built around the state. The two story holding areas are designed and furnished so that they also serve as the dining and shower facilities for the inmates. This design makes moving inmates around the facility obsolete.
