Anderson Hancock Planetarium

Institutional Construction
in Marietta, OH

The Anderson Hancock Planetarium was able to be constructed due to the generous donation of Marietta College Alumni David Rickey. The donation was given in order to recognize and honor his college professors Dr. Lester Anderson and Dr. Whit Hancock. The new Anderson Hancock Planetarium boasts a 130 seat theater, director’s offices, research lab, a multimedia lobby, and restroom facilities for the theater patrons. The theater itself includes the most up to date, high end technology of projection equipment, digital surround sound, and an Astrotec projection dome. The facility will be used as an educational classroom and laboratory for the colleges new Astronomy minor and for presentations and shows to area schools and the general public.
